Two more Angels in Heaven - Paul Younan - 06-24-2004

Shlama l'Kulkhon,

It is with deep sadness that I write this message about my cousin's children (Isaac (1) and Cassandra (3) Younan), who were killed on Monday by their own mother. May these two little angels rest in peace in our Father's loving arms.

Services are tomorrow (6-14) 10 A.M. at Mar Gewargis Church in Chicago.

What a tragic story Akhi!

Our hearts and prayers are with you and your family. The only consolation is perhaps knowing that these dear children are at this very moment enjoying the experience of being in the glorious presence of our Creator MarYah Alaha Kheylthana.

shlomo oh Paul,

moryo aloho nerehmun!

It's always a tragedy when something like this happens, but you can rest assured that they have joined Our Lord. Tonight I'll be saying a prayer on their behalf.

poosh bashlomo,
keefa-moroon

I'm sorry akh! We've recently had a traumatic experience as well... pretty close by our little community of Woodland Hills. My wife's first cousin Doris Ray was wrestling with a man (under the influence of methamphetamine or crack cocaine possibly) and smashed his head into the floor really hard. It left him with very large black circles under his eyes from the clotting, etc. He purchased a handgun not long after that and was tinkering with the firing pin for some reason (might have been jammed), and the gun went off in his side. He was rushed to Intensive Care but they couldn't save him.
This doesn't compare at all though with what you mentioned and at least poor D. R. got to live into his seventies.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you rakhmi.

Our prayers are with you - Andrew Gabriel Roth - 06-25-2004

Shlama Akhi Paul,

I have no words. If such words existed they would have been uttered by people long ago and far smarter than I could ever hope to be. Jaye and I feel like our hearts have been ripped out and stomped on, to think of such a heinous act against the most innocent and wonderful among us.

And, what can we say that you don't already know so very well? Those children are with Maran Y'shua--count on that. He will lift them up into his bosom, and they will know joy and laugh again. The kingdom of heaven already belongs to them.

It is, as we say in my family, "beyond beyond", and just a very bad week all around--my father's tombstone unveiling is on Sunday, and it coincides with the Yahrzeit (annual remembrance) of my grandfather's death. I thought I knew grief when I lost my grandparents as a kid, then I came to understand the real thing when my Dad died last November. But this--I can't even process what this must feel like. My Dad had 69 years and a full life--these kids had almost no time. The joys of school and friends, sports and prom, love and marriage, all denied them by one thoughtless, evil act. If we did not have eternal life though Akhi, we would have nothing at all, but knowing that does not take all the pain out, but only makes it bearable. And still, well, it royally sucks, what can I say? I don't think faith helps us get around these things, but it can help us go through them and get to the other side, where life and love await us all.

I'll stop now because I know I'm failing miserably to speak my heart well. You know they are in paradise and the great love our Savior has, so you have no need for me to dwell on that either. But where I am weak, Maran is strong for us all.

With deepest sympathies, love and respect... <!-- sSad --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif" alt="Sad" title="Sad" /><!-- sSad -->

Terrible! May the Lord grant HIs consolation to your cousin... and have Mercy upon that mother, too...
Count on my prayers, Akhi Paul.
