John 7:37: his belly? or her belly/midst? - DavidFord - 09-21-2019

How does the Peshitta read?  Does this work as a translation from the Aramaic?:

37-38. Now on the great day, which is the last (day) of the feast, Yeshua was standing and he cried out and said,
"If a man thirsts, let him come to me!
And drink, anyone who believes in me!
As the Kethaba have said,
"rivers of living water will flow from her midst."
['flow' is derived from the same root as Yordanan, which means 'Flowing.'-PY]
39. And he said this concerning the Rukha that they, those who believe in him,
were about to receive.
For the Rukha was not yet given,
because Yeshua was not yet glorified.

For Luke 11:41, does this work as a translation from the Aramaic?:
Nevertheless, anything that you have, give it in righteousness,
and behold, everything will be clean to you.

If not, how about, 'make it righteous'?

For John 14:2, is "and it is necessary" a viable possibility?

John 14:2 (YLT)
in the house of my Father are many mansions;
and if not, I would have told you;
I go on to prepare a place for you;

John 14:2 (based on Younan, on looking at the Aramaic for it and for Acts 3:21, and on Torrey, 113)
The rooms (in) the house of Abbi [my Father] are many,
wala [and it is necessary] I would have told you,
for I go to prepare a place for you.

Acts 3:20-21 And He sent to you that which He had prepared for you, Yeshua the Meshikha, whom wla [it is necessary] for heaven to receive until the fullness of the times of all these (things) that Allaha spoke by the mouth of qedisha nabiuhi [of His holy nabia] of old.

Looks like it's this word, doesn't it?

Where I live, what used to be called alms is nowadays called "charity" or by equivalent expressions.

It is often a good idea to cite the text from the source language (Syriac) when asking questions about translation. For example:
