SEDRA3 Etimology record - borota - 12-04-2014

SEDRA3 ETIMOLGY file has a meager only 171 records, so there is not that much benefit to draw from it, it seems.
I would still like to understand what this record means though: Word Origin, e.g. "a\255h\256r".
Stephen, Steve, Paul or anybody else?

Those are escaped characters. Usually diacritical marks such as accents.

Peace,
