Peshitta manuscripts - IPOstapyuk - 12-21-2011
Does anybody know any Peshitta (22 books) manuscripts other than Khaboris and Mingana?
I heard there are around 500 of them.
Any helpful links highly appreciated?

I like to share a good set of Aramaic manuscripts/books online
in free pdf files.
It also includes
The homilies of Aphraates, the Persian sage.
I remember somebody on the forum asked about Aphraates works.
The set also includes copy of 8th century manuscript (Epistles of Paul in Estrangelo).
This is 3rd manuscript of Peshitta(o) online that I know so far.

Personally, I'd really like to see and know what the earliest extant manuscripts for the Peshitta with eastern vowels are. At some point, they added the dotes. Also, I have a grammar book that says that they used to make the accent. I'd really like know how to pronounce certain words properly. And sometimes the vowels are missing in modern manuscripts, and it would be so helpful to have accent markers, like the Masoretic text.

Maybe Brother Stephen Silver has a list of the most ancient known Eastern Manuscripts/Codices? I would love to know about them.

The only complete (or very nearly complete) manuscripts of the Eastern Peshitta that I know about are the Younan Codex and the Khabouris Codex. The Mingana Codex is from the 17th Century. Surely there are others, but I don't personally know of any.
I have unverified information that there are 360 Eastern manuscripts but I'm guessing that this list is comprised mostly of fragments and partials containing a few books each. There are no doubt many more Western manuscripts than Eastern manuscripts. This is only my opinion and an educated guess.

I heard that there are around 500 Eastern NT Manuscripts which are EXACTLY identical and after a long time of looking for them
I came to conclusion that only 3 manuscripts exist:
Khaboris, Mingana and Younan (hidden from public eye for unknown reason).
So, numbers 350 or 500 looks like to be only rumors.
Having only Khaboris and Mingana its hard to believe that other manuscripts are identical
if they exist at all.

Unfortunately, many of the manuscripts are available for viewing only at the museums, or in personal collections. Brigham Young University and the Vatican are starting to digitize many of these manuscripts.

No kidding. I think between the British museum and the Vatican, 99% of our manuscripts are there.
