Acts 28:27 and Isaiah 6:10 (Forgive vs heal) - IPOstapyuk - 12-10-2011

Shlama all,

Reading the
Khaboris manuscript (Acts 28:27 )and the Ceriani_Veteris Testamentum (Masoretic type) manuscript (Isaiah 6:10) :
- "... and I would forgive them."
and
Greek NT (Official Greek Orthodox Church NT)(Acts 28:27 ) @dukhrana.com and Ceriani_Syro-Hexaplaris Ambrosianus (Septuagint type) manuscript (Isaiah 6:10):
- "... and I would heal them."

When looking at the context, we see that God talks about sins of the people and not
about illnesses. So, the only sense it makes with "...and I will forgive them " which is represented by Peshitta and Masoretic Tanach.

My conclusion based on logic is that Origen took "heal" from a Greek NT and put it into LXX to make perfect match. So, Peshitta exposes not only Greek NT but also LXX.

Here I want to clarify that the context to be considered is not just this verse but many verses above
like from Isaiah 5:
[24] Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

From the context I see that the people need not a healing but forgiveness but because of the hardened heart they not see what ought to be seen and to repent and to be forgiven.
