I think it's time to increase the requirements for subscribing to this forum by using some kind of visual CHAP verification, or approving individual subscriptions.

Hey Akh,
I do already! This is a newly found vulnerability in the forum software that is being exploited by these people writing scripts that go out and literally spam thousands of websites with links. I have to upgrade the forum software this morning, and the fix should be implemented to shore up the software.

Soon, we are going to be changing over to a "invitation-only" type of registration. The user will have to register, and then email us and one of the moderators will need to approve of the applicant. Gone are the days of open registration where the user is able to start posting immediately. This will help to prevent the type of spam flooding we experienced.
