For the record... - Andrew Gabriel Roth - 06-11-2008

Shlama all--

I think I saw a post from Stephen Silver saying that I had translated the whole Bible from Aramaic? If so I should clarify and say I have only done the NT, but it brings up an interesting discussion as some have asked if I will do Tanakh. For right now, I would have to say no. For one thing, I am not even certain WHICH Tanakh to translate from. As a Hebrew, I love the MT of course, but as a scholar I know it is a late standardization, and sometimes think Peshitta Tanakh would be better for me to look at. It's hard though, being so close to getting Mari out, to even think too much about anything else.
