Larry Kelsey:

Shlama Akhay,
Did we catch our friend Zorba red-handed again? I'll share the info on Luke 11:49 and let you decide. The word for 'they will persecute' in the Peshitta is nun-resh-daleth-pe-waw-nun, (NRDPWN), with a root of resh-daleth-pe, (RDP). I'll copy and paste the results of the entry 'rdp' from the CAL site.

The Greek translators took two different routes when comparing the Textus Receptus to the other texts. From all apppearances, Textus Receptus chose 'persecute' and these texts chose 'drive out.'

Luke 11:49. Read "drive out" instead of "persecute". S B E G L T Trt At W HF

t is subjoined to the abbreviation for a critical text or translation when the reading is given in the text, while the reading of the King James version is given as a likely alternative either in the margin or by means of brackets in the text.
