I believe that M'shikha said it just that way, and that it was understood by the Apostles to mean that He was speaking of "Authority", not just speaking the Name of each...i.e. "Father", "Son", "Holy Spirit". Eshu told them that ALL Authority had been given unto Him, both in Heaven and Earth, so this would explain why they then are seen to Baptise in His Name(Authority).

Also, He came in His Father's Name(Authority).

Many do not understand the doctrine of the Trinity at all, they think that it means that there are three seperate eternal beings called "GOD", like a group making up one GOD...but this is not what the doctrine teaches, not even close. But, that is theological I know...so... <!-- sSmile --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/smile.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /><!-- sSmile -->

This verse is NOT found in Yukhanan but this trinity formula is found only in Matthew 28:19
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." this formula contradicts to all New Testament and I was very disappointed when I found it in Peshitta too. All the NT demands only baptizing in the name of Jesus.

On the other side this formula is absent in Hebrew Matthew Gospel of Shem Tov.

How all the Zorbas missed it?

what you think?

Maybe you should not read into it what it says: IT is not a trinity formula! Isayah 48:16 also mentions 'Me, YHWH God, and the spirit.'

THe Matthew of Shem Tob certainly is not a viable document to be authentic.
Ah yes...Isaiah 48:16 Speaking of The Messiah The Word, in and through whom Alaha created the Universe.

"Draw near towards Me and hear this, which from the beginning I have not spoken secretly, and from the time that it existed, there I AM. And now, MarYa Alaha and His Spirit, has sent Me." - Isaiah 48:16 Aramaic Peshitta

Hi, I noticed something different about the Peshitta....

I noticed the Peshitta uses "Lord" a lot less than the Greek text, like more of "My Lord" or "Our Lord" where Greek just has "kurios".

Examples among many: "And if you shall confess with your mouth our Lord Yeshu, and shall believe with your heart, that God has raised him from the dead; you shall be saved." ; "And they, when assembled, asked him and said to him: Our Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"

Also: "My Lord, who has believed our report?"; "The woman said to him: My lord, you have no bucket, and the well is deep.; how have you living waters?

These among many are just "kurios" in the Greek text.

Could Zorba have misread the Yudh (mari) and the Nun (maran) many times?

Or perhaps the Greek could be revealing an earlier recension of the Peshitta text, unlike our Peshitta...

Paul, or other Aramaic speakers, could someone answer the thing about the Yudh and the Nun?

This about the Peshitta interested me for a while...
I myself have confused Nun and Yod several times in the Estrangela script. I don't see how this could have been confused in square script.
