Hi all I am relatively new to this forum. I use the accordance bible software for Mac osx as my primary Scripture study tool.

I am thinking of purchasing the OT Peshitta and the NT Peshitta modules for this application. I am wanting some thoughts of authority on the usefulness of the following

For the NT:
Syriac New Testament Peshitta (morphologically tagged)

The Syriac texts are copyrighted by George A. Kiraz, Piscataway, N.J.
Used by permission.

Version 2.0

For the OT:

Syriac Peshitta (Old Testament)

Project oversight and grammatical analysis by Dr. Martin Abegg and Dr. Jerome Lund

Electronic text entered by Dr. Jerome Lund and Jason Driesbach. Proofing by Anthony Meyer.

(See the file ?PESHOT-T - Read me first? for more details.)

Version 1.0

PESHNT The Syriac Peshitta New Testament, based on Dr. George A. Kiraz?s SEDRA 3 database. By the fifth century CE, the Peshitta was the official Bible of the Syriac-speaking church. This module is grammatically tagged and displays the text in the Estrangela script.

HPESHNT The Syriac Peshitta New Testament, based on Dr. George A. Kiraz?s SEDRA 3 database. By the fifth century CE, the Peshitta was the official Bible of the Syriac-speaking church. This module is grammatically tagged and displays the text in the Aramaic square script.

SYRIAC-S The Old Syriac Codex Sinaiticus dates to the fourth century CE. It is one of the oldest surviving Syriac manuscripts and contains portions of all four Gospels. This is an untagged module that displays the text in the Estrangela script.

SYRIAC-C The Old Syriac Codex Curetonianus dates to the fifth century CE. It is one of the oldest surviving Syriac manuscripts and contains portions of all four Gospels. This is an untagged module that displays the text in the Estrangela script.

HSYRIAC-S The Old Syriac Codex Sinaiticus dates to the fourth century CE. It is one of the oldest surviving Syriac manuscripts and contains portions of all four Gospels. This is an untagged module that displays the text in the Aramaic square script.

HSYRIAC-C The Old Syriac Codex Curetonianus dates to the fifth century CE. It is one of the oldest surviving Syriac manuscripts and contains sections from all four Gospels. This is an untagged module that displays the text in the Aramaic Square script.

PESHNT-E A literal English translation of the Peshitta New Testament by Dr. James Murdock (1851).

for the OT:

Important Notes for the Old Testament of the Peshitta (PESHOT-T)

November, 2010

Introduction

This module represents a morphologically tagged transcription of the Torah (Gen-Deut) as contained in Peshitta manuscript 7a1 (Milan, Ambrosian Library). For the lacuna at Num 3:23-5:10 we incorporated 6b1 (London, British Museum). We used the photographic reproduction published by A. M. Ceriani, Translatio Syro Pescitto Veteris Testamenti ex codice Ambrosiano sec. fere VI. photolithographice edita. London: Apud Williams et Norgate, 1876-1883. The transcription was prepared by Jerome Lund (Ex-Deut) and Jason Driesbach (Gen). The analysis was done by Martin Abegg and Jerome Lund. Proofing of the transcription was done by Anthony Meyer.

Our analysis (lexical and morphological) closely follows that of PESHNT-T as established by George A. Kiraz (PESHNT-T). We have, however, chosen to disambiguate the 'biliteral' verbs as either hollow or geminate.

Please let me know your thoughts

Kind Regards
