It seems there is a city 'marjah' near the border of Iran in Afghanistan.

I was just wondering, co?ncidence or an ancient left over of an aramaic past?
What mean this world> Maryah?
Thx.
Mar-Yah is Aramaic for Jahweh (Hebrew)
Sure?

Clarification. How do we know that?

Because in the Hebrew OT, at every place (a few exceptions) where we have YHWH, there is at that place, in the ARamaic Targum, Mar-Yah. Mar-Yah is applied _only_ to God, not to somebody else.

The same Mar-Yah occurs 215 in the NT.
OK. Thx. I understand. Please give me two examples. One from OT and one from NT.
