shlomo lkhoon aHay,

I'm thinking of translating the Book of the Prophet Isaiah from the Peshitta Text and Masoretic Text (Syriac Version). (This wouldn't be an interlinear, but a straight translation with the actual text in Syriac-Aramaic.)
Please let me know if this is worth it or not?

Here's a link to a sample of the layout:

Two words:

DO IT! <!-- s:bigups: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/bigups.gif" alt=":bigups:" title="Big Ups" /><!-- s:bigups: -->
shlam lekh khat Christina,

You don't have to tell me twice! <!-- sBig Grin --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/happy.gif" alt="Big Grin" title="Happy" /><!-- sBig Grin -->

I will continue updating the PDF that is at the beginning of this thread until I finish the translation.

P.S. Additional clarification on the first message of this thread. Although this is not a word-for-word-interlinear, it is an interlinear in the sense that it goes Aramaic-English-Aramaic-Etc...

shlom lkhun,

I just finished translating the the first chapter of the Book of the Prophet Isaiah from the Peshitta OT; I hope that everyone enjoys it!

-The English is on the left hand side and the Syriac-Aramaic on the right hand side
-I've also added all the vowels marks, vocalisation marks, and punctuations.
-The Peshitta OT has some beautiful and interesting readings!
-I will soon start working on Chapter 2.
-The link for the chapter is at the beginning of this thread.

Shlama,

Please keep us posted on your work.

Thank you for your efforts in translation. We need more people such as yourself working with the Pshitta Tanakh within the Aramaic/Syriac community.
